Stories:
Turkey, from west to east
A journey in Turkey ... . (more info soon online)
Kashmir
The Indian occupied part of Kashmir has a long history of bloodshed.
The main reasons for this are it’s location near the Pakistani border, a country India has a troubled relationship with, and the local Muslim population that seeks to join their neighbours. On top of this the region was hit by a devastating earthquake a few years ago. Things seem to go into the right direction but the constant presence of the Indian army is a harsh reminder of the tension lurking around every corner.
Street scenes carry the traces of this history what just comes to prove that the way to recovery is still far off.
Kolkata
Just an impression.
Newroz

Spring Festival: the kick-off for the new year in big parts of Asia.

The Kurdish community within Turkey considers this to be their Public Holiday. In Diyarbarkir, the capital of the non-existing country Kurdistan, a big crowd gathers on an open field just outside the city. All of this under the wakeful eye of the police and the army. The importance seemsto increase:this year there were talks of 1'000'000 people attending the festivities. This Public Holiday clearly means business and speeches by Kurdish politicians fill the agenda throughout the day.

Camel Fair, Pushkar, India 2007
Pushkar ka Mela' is the world's largest camel fair, annually organised in the holy city of Pushkar. This fair, where cows and horses are sold as well, attracts thousands of camel drivers and traders from all over India.
